Nature, art & culture come together to create Lake Maggiore beauties, with its picturesque and fascinating islands and spectacular botanical gardens. Little towns are enlivened by the elegance of many aristocratic mansions, including Villa & Palazzo Aminta, now a highly classy Resort surrounded by a luxuriant park overlooking the enchanting Borromeo Gulf.

Member of The Leading Hotels of the World, its delicate and precious atmosphere in the exclusive and new spaces of the hotel were conceived as in a private home, in which time has stratified the styles and traditions of Italian art.
It was the Admiral of the Italian Navy Francesco Capece, Knight of the Order of S. Maurizio and Lazzaro, Knight of the Order of the Crown of Italy, Medal to memory of the campaigns of Africa, Cross of gold with crown for 40 years of military service, silver Medal to the valour military, to buy the Villa at his retirement from the Royal Navy in July of 1918, and named it like his beloved wife Aminta. In those times it was a wonderful private residence with only seven rooms and a bathroom.
Several were the representatives of the European “Belle Epoque”, fascinated by the romantic atmosphere of the lake and the charming surroundings and views that make Villa Aminta a splendid paradise overlooking the Borromeo Gulf.
In the most recent years, in 1966 Liz Taylor and Richard Burton picked Villa Aminta for one of their many escapes of love.
The Zanetta family, owners of Villa Aminta since 2000, have restored the villa to its original splendour with a fairy tale feeling. After having conducted accurate historical research, the remodelling was done with elegance and taste, offering high standards and technology at the same time. the villa has been embellished with antique furniture, stuccos, chandeliers, precious wall papers, arabesques and oriental arches in homage to the historical relationship with the Venetian Republic, the “The Doorway to the Orient”.
Villa e Palazzo Aminta has today 71 rooms in total of nine different categories, set on five different floors, each with its own colour and different decoration, all equipped with precious furniture, Jacuzzi bathtub, complimentary mini-bar soft drinks, private balcony or terrace.
